Technical Procedures for the Avian Patient

This lecture will discuss the most common technical procedures performed in the avian hospital. All procedures begin with proper restraint and safety for the patient. Intramuscular injections, fluid therapy and crop feeding are necessary skills required for the avian technician. Sinus flushes and intraossesous catheter placement are more advanced skills. Not to forget the skills that please the avian owner, such as wing, nail and beak trims.
